Dr. Nicole Barry has always maintained a passion for health and fitness and incorporates her personal philosophy into her work.
Dr.Nicole completed her Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with Honours at Western University in London, Ontario. She then continued on to Toronto to successfully obtain her Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
She has additionally completed courses that focus on restoring muscle and joint movement, such as Graston® Level 1(Instrument-assisted soft tissue), Active Release Technique® (ART), and Rocktape® Kinesiology Taping. Dr. Nicole has also been trained in Webster Technique, which is utilized to help promote optimal balance for pelvic muscles, ligaments and joints for expectant mothers.
While many people associate adjustments with chiropractic care, that is just one of the tools in her toolbox. Dr. Nicole employs a combination of soft tissue therapies, adjustments, gentle joint mobilizations, kinesiology taping, custom orthotics, and rehabilitative exercises to help her patients’ function at their best.
Dr.Nicole is experienced in treating a wide scope of conditions, ranging from athletic injuries, workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and relief from everyday aches and pains.
Dr. Nicole places an emphasis on quality, not quantity. She takes her time with each patient to design a comprehensive treatment plan to meet individual needs.

Subha graduated with a Bachelors of Physiotherapy in 1999 and practiced as a Physical Therapist in India. She moved to Canada in 2005 and has worked in acute care hospitals and private practice across Alberta. She now calls Calgary home.
Subha is certified in functional dry needling, spinal & peripheral manipulation, and the McKenzie Method (Part A: Lumbar Spine). She has completed many certifications centered around pregnancy, birth and postpartum health including pelvic girdle pain, diastasis rectus abdonimis, and the role of physiotherapy in preparation for and recovery from cesarean birth. She has also received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) and practices with a trauma informed lens.
Subha has extensive experience with patients in many aspects of rehabilitation such as chronic pain, concussion management, motor vehicle accidents, vestibular rehab and sports injuries. Her special interest is treating both male and female pelvic floor dysfunction - urinary/ fecal incontinence, dyspareunia , vulvodynia, chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and other pelvic health related conditions and health concerns.
Subha uses an evidence-based and client-centred approach and believes in treating the individual patient, not just the health condition.
In addition to her interest in health and wellness, Subha enjoys travel, food and fitness, she loves running half marathons.

Mariah graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta after completing her Bachelor of Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia - Okanagan. Mariah grew up playing competitive volleyball among various other sports, but she found her real passion for health and fitness when she started going to the gym in university. Mariah worked as a fitness instructor for over 5 years with a special interest in health promotion and injury prevention. Mariah strongly believes that exercise is medicine, which lead her to pursue a career in physiotherapy.
Mariah’s goal as a physiotherapist is get people back doing the activities they love. Mariah believes in an active approach to treatment and incorporates education, therapeutic exercise, and manual therapy into her sessions. She understands that every person and every injury is unique and works alongside her patients to create a treatment plan that fits their lifestyle.
Mariah has worked with people 5 to 95 years old, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Mariah has a keen interest in sports rehab and has had opportunities to work with basketball and volleyball teams, golfers, and even an Australian football club when she lived overseas for a year.
Outside of the clinic, Mariah loves strength training, group fitness, golfing, hiking, and travelling. Mariah is also a die-hard foodie – you can find her in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes. She was born and raised in Calgary and loves to spend as much time in the mountains as possible!

Sue Maxner, PT

Sue graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She has experience practicing as a registered physiotherapist in multiple settings including both private practice and public healthcare, and across many provinces including Nova Scotia, Alberta & New Brunswick.
Sue has valuable experience working with a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions, such as joint replacements, acute & chronic sports injuries, chronic pain & rheumatology. Additionally, she has worked extensively with motor vehicle injuries, incorporating functional assessments, job site/ergonomic analysis, as well as designing and managing return to work programs.
Currently, Sue is a Certified McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT)(https://mckenzieinstitute.org/) practitioner. In MDT, assessment is focused on identification of a mechanical cause of the patient's spinal or extremity pain and/or obstruction to movement. The patient is an integral component of the assessment, and is then equipped with the tools and education to manage their pain and/or obstruction to movement.
Sue is passionate about preventative, early intervention treatment. Her enthusiasm for continual learning and expansion of her expertise is infectious, and precedes her exemplary reputation for effectively developing and implementing outcome-based treatment plans to support her patient’s health goals.
When not working, Sue enjoys curling, travelling, going to the gym, biking and hiking in stunning Alberta.

Kayla graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master's of Science in Physical Therapy in 2013, following a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. Practicing as a registered physiotherapist, she has worked extensively in private practice working with a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. Her experience ranges from motor vehicle accidents, sports related injuries, overuse and posture related dysfunctions, chronic pain, pre and post operative management, and acute sprains and strains.
Kayla has a strong interest in additional post-graduate education, which has included certification in acupuncture, biomedical dry needling, Active Release Technique, advanced manual therapy courses through the orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and the ordering of diagnostic Imaging.
Her approach to rehab is centered around analyzing movement patterns and postures, and then creating functional progressive exercises and using manual therapy techniques to address altered mechanics and restore optimal mobility and function.
Kayla has a special interest in climbing related injuries and injury prevention, including teaching youth education workshops on preventing injury in youth competition climbers. She also has a keen interest in non-operative shoulder management, and continues to develop her skill set in this area with mentorship from the team of orthopaedics surgeons, physicians, and physiotherapists at Access Orthopaedics.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family or at the local climbing gym. She enjoys running, bouldering, snowboarding, golf, wakeboarding, and watching supercross with friends.

Cristiane Yamabayashi

Cristiane graduated in 1999 with a degree in Physiotherapy from Brazil and after a Residency program, she went to Japan to engage in research, ultimately earning her Doctoral Degree at Niigata University. After a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia she decided to return her focus to clinical practice.
Cristiane has worked in several fields of rehabilitation including cardiorespiratory, neurologic, vestibular, and musculoskeletal, both in the public and private sector. Since graduation Cristiane has taken multiple courses to advance her knowledge in areas including Vestibular Rehabilitation, Manual Therapy, Dry Needling, and most recently she became Certified in The Mckenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). She has particular interest in helping people overcome symptoms and functional limitations associated with vertigo, dizziness and imbalance. She has treated patients with vestibular dysfunctions both in acute care and during subacute and chronic stages of their condition.
In addition to her practice at Energize, Cristiane has worked at the Neurovestibular Clinic at South Health Campus since 2018.

River is a 2200 hour RMT who graduated with Honours with Distinction from the 2-year massage therapy program at Alberta College of Massage Therapy. She is an active member of the Canadian Massage & Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association.
River is skilled in a variety of techniques including therapeutic, deep tissue, trigger point release, joint mobilization, and relaxation massage, and has experience treating individuals who are post-surgical, pre- and post-natal, athletes, those who have repetitive strain/ use injuries, and more.
With 8 years of experience as a personal trainer, River has worked with clients from all walks of life, lending invaluable experience and knowledge to her massage therapy practice. She is certified in both Upper and Lower Body Mobility and incorporates movement into her treatments as an important piece to help patients manage their pain. Using orthopedic testing and a patient-focused approach, she will work with you to create a treatment plan appropriate for you and your goals.
Outside of practice, River can be found enjoying the mountains, swinging kettlebells, eating snacks, or at the dog park with her dog.

Natalie has always been drawn towards helping others. While working at Energize Health in an administrative position, Natalie saw the benefits of manual therapy and the difference it made in peoples live. With encouragement from her colleagues, Natalie enrolled in, and has since graduated from the 2200 hr massage therapy program at the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy. She is a member in good standing with the Massage Therapists Association of Alberta.
Natalie uses a client focused approach to care. Whether her client’s goal is to fix a 10-year-old shoulder injury or relax from a stressful work week, Natalie will create a treatment that is tailored for her client’s specific condition or goal.
Trained in orthopedic assessment, Natalie uses specific tests and movements to determine the cause of her client’s discomfort and provides the treatment most likely to alleviate symptoms. She uses a variety of massage therapy and musculoskeletal techniques to help reduce pain and improve physical function.
Along with her massage training, Natalie is certified in laser and shockwave therapy, and can use these modalities to help treat acute or chronic conditions.
Outside of the clinic Natalie enjoys traveling, Pilates, kayaking and spending time with friends and family.

Energize Health has been Josh's dream for the past 15 years. Passionate about helping people with their physical health, he had always wanted a cutting edge, multi-disciplinary clinic that put the patients and their results first.
After gaining over 10 years experience in massage therapy, rehabilitation and healthcare, Josh, along with his wife Lisa, decided it was time to open Energize Health.
During his career, Josh has worked as the trainer for various college and university level sports teams, a therapist for CFL, NHL and Olympic athletes, and has worked extensively with patients who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents.
Josh is certified in kinesiology taping, laser therapy, shockwave therapy, Graston Technique and vacutherapy (cupping), and most recently, custom foot orthotics.
Along with his busy clinical practice, Josh is a board member with the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta and is passionate about furthering the massage therapy profession. He served as the instructor of Orthopedic Assessment for the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy – Calgary, from 2008-2011. He holds certifications as a personal trainer and is a former Emergency Medical Responder.
Josh graduated with Honours from a 3 year Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma program from Algonquin College of Arts and Technology in Ottawa in 2006 and is currently completing his Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Health Sciences.
When not in a treatment room at Energize Health, Josh can often be seen on the play structures around Evanston or in the field kicking a ball around with Lisa and their young daughter Olivia.

The foundation of Gina's practice has always been to aid clients in achieving a better quality of life through movement and pain management techniques. After five years of working as a personal trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology, Gina expanded her knowledge into manual therapies and became a Registered Massage Therapist. She is a graduate of the MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy campus in Edmonton, and has added to her skillset over the years, including training and certification in cupping therapy.
Gina believes in a science-based practice that is centered on not only the "how" but also the "why" of therapeutic treatment methods, that each treatment should be individualized and have a client-centered focus and finally, that clients need to be an active participant in their own success. In respect to massage, her areas of interest include understanding the role that massage therapy can play in discomfort and pain management as well as joint mobilization for the purpose of enhancing overall joint health. In addition to personal training and massage, Gina also holds certifications as a Functional Range Conditioning Specialist (joint function and health) as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (biomechanical deviations).
Gina's style is broad, deep pressure that favors movement-based techniques when applicable. Her educational background provides her a strong foundation for working with both athletes (sports massage) and those with health considerations (therapeutic massage) alike.

Matt has always had a keen interest in physical function and athletics. Born and raised in Calgary, he was involved in elite level sports from a young age. These experiences helped develop Matt’s interest in the human body and how it functions and moves.
Prior to becoming a massage therapist, Matt worked as a Primary Care Paramedic for several years. His experience helping people in this capacity gave him a greater appreciation of the complexity of the body and helped guide his career path to massage therapy.
As a graduate of Mount Royal University’s massage therapy program, Matt employs an active approach in his practice. The combination of his athletic and healthcare backgrounds have allowed him to see and experience the benefits of movement-based, active treatment, first-hand. This active approach further enables Matt to help his clients reach their functional goals.
Matt utilizes many techniques in his treatments such as myofascial work, trigger point release, cupping therapy, shockwave therapy, and different muscle energy techniques to address the needs of his clients. He approaches each client as an individual and is focused on finding the root cause of their ailments and concerns, and works with his clients to ensure they receive the best quality of care while working towards the achievement of their functional goals.
When not tending to client needs in the clinic, you can probably find Matt tending the twine at an arena, on the golf course, or traveling around the globe.
