Dr. Joanie Boux was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She completed her medical school training in Winnipeg and shortly thereafter, moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to complete her Anesthesiology Residency. She practiced for over 16 years in the field of Anesthesia, including work in both an Intensive Care Unit and Chronic Pain Clinic. Her experience working with individuals suffering from chronic pain made her want to explore alternative ways, outside of western medicine, to encourage the innate ability for self-healing.
Joanie's fascination with alternative healing methods and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) led her to pursue training as an Acupuncturist with the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM) in Halifax. She is a TCM patient herself; any true, lasting healing she had personally achieved in her life had arisen from the various alternative health modalities she had sought out.
Joanie incorporates her years of experience in the field of western medicine in her current holistic teachings to provide the highest quality of integrative health care. Her top priority is to help her patients’ achieve an optimum state of health and longevity. She is committed to the art and science of strengthening and re-balancing the body's underlying energetic forces to achieve peace, harmony, vitality and a sense of well-being in today's stressful world. She considers herself to be a caring and loving individual with a deep desire to help people overcome any physical and emotional challenges blocking their path to a fulfilling life.
Joanie's services include Acupuncture, Acupressure Massage, TCM Reflexology, Cupping Therapy, nutrition/lifestyle advice and Acutonics.
